As part of its efforts to enrich the experience of residents and visitors to Salalah, Omantel — the main sponsor of 2016 Salalah Tourism Festival, completed a major enhancement of its mobile network to meet the needs of visitors to the governorate during this monsoon season.

The enhancements include extensive improvements of 100 cell sites across the Governorate of Dhofar to offer visitors an unforgettable experience during the Khareef season. Underlining the rapid progress made towards the expansion of its Mobile Broadband network in the Dhofar Governorate, a recent network performance report from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority focusing on the 2015 Khareef season notes that Omantel delivers the best mobile network coverage and performance in both voice and broadband across Salalah.

Commenting on the rapid network expansion in Dhofar governorate, Mohammed Ali Bait Ali Issa, General Manager at Salalah noted, “Our focus on network expansion and enhancement in Salalah and indeed across Oman is driven by Omantel’s 3.0 transformative strategy. We aim to be the nation’s digital partner of choice in all sectors”. “With the efforts of our teams in the field, we managed to continue the enhancements on our network by improving 100 cell sites across the governorate. The enhancements allow for much greater capacity, upgrading the frequencies as well as improving the technology. We have also set up new stations in new regions in the governorate to meet our customers’ needs of broadband mobile services. This falls within our strategy to provide our customers the best experience ever,” Mohammed said.
