Qatar Exchange index lost 100.78 points (1.20%) this week when the bourse closed at 8,316.05 points when trading ended here Thursday afternoon. The trading value increased by 12.80% this week when it reached QR 1,371,708,121.71 compared to QR 1,216,013,773.02 the previous week. From the 42 listed companies 13 ended this week higher while 28 fell and one remained unchanged. Al khalij Commercial Bank led the traded value this week with 22.02% of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 10.35%. Mazaya accounted for 8.95%. The trading volume increased by 12.66% when it recorded 61,433,968 shares compared to 54,529,817 shares while the number of transactions fell by 4.89% at 18,801 transactions as compared to last week's 19,768. The market capitalization fell by 1.21% when it reached QR 445,938,817,138.22 as compared to QR 451,395,947,432.87 at the end of previous week. Banks and financial services sector led the traded value this week with 40.63% of the total traded value. Industrial sector accounted for 21.85%. Consumer goods and services sector accounted for 14.29% and real estate sector accounted for 12.97%. Banks and financial services sector led the traded volume this week with 40.92% of the total traded volume. Real estate sector accounted for 19.80%. Consumer goods and services sector accounted for 15.83% and the industrial sector accounted for 11.50%. Banks and financial services sector led the number of transactions traded this week with 25.79% of the total transactions. Industrial sector accounted for 20.10%. Consumer goods and services sector accounted for 17.94% and real estate sector accounted for 17.57%.
DFM Index Declines Slightly
The DFM General Index spending most of the session in the red zone closed the day at 2,379.49 points on Tuesday 18th June 2013. The index trimmed 3.32 points or 0.14 percent for the session.
QE Index Turned Red as Key Sectors Decline
The Qatar Exchange turned red on Tuesday 18th June 2013. The Index continued stepping its way lower in the red territory, dropping 68.65 points or 0.73 percent it reached at 9,361.05 levels.
