Qatar Exchange’s (QE) benchmark index gained 39.53 points, or 0.38 percent, during the last trading week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,425.97 points after the end of the trading week.
Trading value during the week increased by 24.75 percent to reach about QR2.12bn compared to about QR1.69bn during the previous week. While the trading volume increased by 43 percent to reach 74.8 million shares (to be exact 74,802,669) as against 52.3 million shares (52,308,378), while the number of transactions rose by 23.33 percent, to reach 29,748 transactions as compared to 24,120 transactions.
Market cap rose marginally by 0.53 percent to reach about QR548.09bn during the week as compared to about QR545.21bn at the end of the previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value during the week with 41.07 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 18.25 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.69 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 11.37 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 33.39 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 20.71 percent. Industries sector accounted for 14.77 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 14.69 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions during the week with 32.58 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 18.63 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.61 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 12.49 percent, reports QNA. From the 43 listed companies 25 ended higher, while 17 fell and one remained unchanged.
Masraf Al Rayan led trading value during the week accounted for 11.72 percent of the total traded value. Gulf International Services accounted for 9.78 percent and Barwa Real Estate accounted for 7.60 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QE’s benchmark index gained 134.64 points, or 1.31 percent, yesterday compared to the previous day (Wednesday).
The daily turnover jumped QR678.04m with a volume of about 21.31 million shares (to be exact 21,307,969) from 8,110 deals compared to QR444.58m with a volume of about 19.42 million shares (19,422,168) from 6,386 deals on Wednesday.
From the 43 companies listed on QE, shares of 41 saw trading yesterday. From these 26 gained, 11 closed lower and four remained unchanged.
Indices of all sectors ended in the green yesterday with real estate index gaining the most, up 4.32 percent to 2,525.39 points. QE Total Return Index gained 1.48 percent to 16,698.99 points. QE Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 1.45 percent to 3,933.88 points and QE All Share Index gained 1.45 percent to 2,840.54 points.
