Qatar market shrugs off foreign FIFA 2022 critics

The Qatar Exchange 20 Index added 1.43 per cent to reach 12,357.62 points on Wednesday, December 24.

On Tuesday, December 23, the English daily The Guardian reported about alleged bad conditions on Qatar’s construction sites at the venues being built for the FIFA world cup 2022. The daily quoted Nepali migrants who work in the GCC state and the office for Nepali expats. Qatar, a major gas supplier, will host the most prestigious soccer tournament as the first Arab country.

Qatar National Bank added 2.42 per cent to reach QAR212. Market bellwether Industries Qatar gained 1.10 per cent to hit QAR174.90.
