QIB, the benchmark Islamic bank in Qatar, and Vodafone Qatar have announced a number of winners of the promotion they jointly started at the end of 2011, and which concluded at the end of February.
Late last year, QIB announced a tie-in with Vodafone Qatar which enabled customers of the country's fastest-growing communications provider, who were also QIB cardholders, to purchase a range of Vodafone products when using any one of the bank's 135 multi-function ATMs.
Parallel to this convenient new development, QIB and Vodafone Qatar launched a promotion whereby customers who bought their products from QIB ATMs would automatically be entered into a prize raffle. Two winners each week received top-of-the-line S4 iPhones. At the conclusion of the promotion, the grand prize of a Samsung Galaxy Tablet was also won. Raffle prizes were generously provided by Vodafone Qatar.
Amr Abbas, Head of Alternative Channels at QIB, commented, "The new facility at QIB ATMs combines two of Qatar's most dynamic companies under the umbrella of 'customer convenience'. The response to the new service has been very encouraging and we are delighted to announce that there have been 13 winners of the event."
He added, "Of the 13 winners, seven are happy to have their names made public, and they are: Yousef Ahmed Almetwaly, Mohamed Edress Amin, Abdallah Sehabo, Mohsen Salim Mohsen, Shams Alhaq Abdelhady, Reyad Bodnar and Gamal Ahmed Abdelaziz."
Phillip Worsley, Head of Commercial Operations at Vodafone Qatar, said, "We're delighted with the way that this promotion went. It offered our mutual customers a new and valuable service and, of course, we had some lucky winners who walked away with valuable prizes. QIB and Vodafone Qatar's joint customers, however, are winners every day!"
