At the end of July 2009 TADAWUL All Share Index (TASI) closed at a level of 5,778.14 points, gained 181.68 points at a growth rate of 3.25% over the close of the previous month. On an YTD basis TASI registered a positive return of 20.30%. Highest close level for the index during the month was 5,839.41 as on 27/07/2009. Total equity market capitalization at the end of July 2009 reached SR 1,112.89 billion (US$ 296.77 billion), increasing by 3.59% over the previous month. The total value of shares traded for the month of July 2009 reached SR 100.39 billion (US$ 26.77 billion), decreasing by 32.75% over the previous month. The total number of shares traded reached 3.68 billion shares for the month of July 2009 compared to 6.33 billion shares traded during the previous month, decreasing by 41.84%. The total number of transactions executed during July 2009 reached 3.13 million compared to 3.98 million trades for the month of June 2009, decreasing by 21.34%. Number of trading days during July 2009 were 21, against 22 trading days during June 2009.
