Indian market indices ended the session on Tuesday with a gain of over 0.3 per cent on firm European cues.
At 3.30 p.m., the 30-share BSE index Sensex was up 61.32 points or 0.36 per cent at 16,943.48 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was up 16.2 points or 0.32 at 5,130.85.
Volume toppers during the session were SBI, RIL, L&T, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank.
Among 30-share Sensex, Tata Power, GAIL, ONGC, Hero MotoCorp and HDFC Bank were the major gainers. HUL, Tata Steel, Sterlite Industries, Infosys and Bharti Airtel were the major laggards.
