The Sensex pared intraday gains and slipped into the negative territory on tough resistance at 17,500 levels after a sharp upmove last week. According to analysts, the market is likely to continue the upward march after consolidating near the current levels.
At 12:25 p.m., the 30-share index was at 17,418.03, down 7.68 points or 0.04 percent. It has touched a high of 17,523.77 and a low of 17,398.89 today.
The Nifty was at 5,285, down 2.95 points or 0.06 percent. It has touched a high of 5,317.65 and a low of 5,279.95 today.
The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.59 percent and the BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.49 percent higher.
