A contract worth SR7.8 billion was signed on Thursday for the supply, operation and maintenance of the bus transport network in Riyadh for a period of 10 years, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The contract was signed in the presence of Riyadh Emir Prince Turki Bin Abdullah, who heads the committee supervising the implementation of King Abdulaziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh. The contracting company will supply 1,000 buses with a capacity to transport a total of 900,000 passengers daily. The company has been given an additional two-year preparatory period to implement the project. The transport network will have 22 routes covering 1,200 kilometers all over the city.
