Swiss customs data suggest that palladium demand has increased, with exports reaching a new high for the year, said HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC) in a commodities research note.
According to thr British bank, June data show an outflow for palladium for a third straight month, with Swiss palladium exports reaching 10.64 tons and imports at 0.99 tons. For May these figures were 6.83 tons and 1.86 tons, respectively.
Platinum exports saw an outflow, but at a much smaller rate than palladium. In June, Swiss platinum exports reached 3.93 tons and imports totaled 3.27 tons. In May 5.30 tons were exports and 1.58 tons were imported, the bank added.
