Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications company in the kingdom, said it has implemented a new registration process for postpaid and prepaid mobile services applications, in accordance with the latest regulation issued by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA).
The new SIM-card enabled telecommunications services registration process has come into force starting from July 12, according to Zain.
This comes as pat of the new TRA regulations being enforced by the telecom regulator across all mobile operators in Bahrain.
Under the new system, all individual and corporate customers applying for postpaid and prepaid mobile services must provide specific documentation, including a valid ID, and a scan of their fingerprints.
These scans will be verified by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) prior to the mobile services activation, said the telecom operator.
The new regulation also specifies that a maximum of 10 prepaid lines can be registered under an individual subscriber, it added.
