I- DOMESTIC LIQUIDITY:

Total deposits in the Saudi banks fell slightly over the week ended May 17th, down by 0.02%, to reach SR 1,171.0 billion, with its YTD growth decreasing to 6.11%.
A review of the components of deposits by type during that week indicates that "demand deposits" (DD) fell by 0.33% to SR 689.3 billion taking its YTD growth down to 7.53%. "Time and savings deposits" (T&SD) declined by 0.35% over the week to reach SR 304.3 billion, pulling its YTD growth down from a week earlier to -0.38%. "Other quasi-monetary deposits" increased by 1.79%, to reach SR 177.4 billion, with its YTD growth increasing to 12.89%.
