• Dubai Holding has said that it has made changes to the board of directors at its hospitality arm Jumeirah Group to include an independent non-executive chairman, two non-executive directors and two executive directors.
• Saudi Arabia has approved a 62 billion riyal (USD16.5 billion) plan to modernise the transport system in its holy city of Mecca, including building a bus network and metro system.
• Annual consumer prices in Qatar rose 2.2% in July, up from 1.6% in the month earlier, underpinned by an increase in transport and communication costs.
