Underscoring the continuing emphasis on Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE), Al Hassan Engineering Co SAOG (AHEC) celebrated the outstanding accomplishment of 2-million man-hours without Lost Time Injury on its Nimr-C Full Field Water Injection Project with an award ceremony at the Grand Hyatt recently. This health and safety milestone was celebrated by an awards presentation from the client Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
The plaque and certificate were received by Hassan Ali Salman, Chairman, Al Hassan Group of Companies, from Said al Asmi, PDO Contract Holder in the presence of PDO officials and the senior management of the Al Hassan Group. Hassan Ali Salman said: "At AHEC, our work force is our asset and we invest time in training, and money in safety, to care for our team. Safety awareness is a top priority and measures are in place to ensure our team is looked after. It is important that we look after our hard-working team and continue to deliver excellent results for our clients."
Salman thanked his staff and co-workers for the achievement and requested them to keep up the good work. He also thanked PDO for their continued guidance and support on the HSE aspects of the project. He stressed that the implementation of programmes such as the Safety Training Observation Programme (STOP), Permit to Work systems and the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) tool box meetings were integral to the success of the sites’ zero LTI performances.
Maqbool Ali Salman, Managing Director, Al Hassan Group of Companies highlighted that AHEC’s HSE performance on non-PDO projects had been equally exemplary. AHEC has achieved 10 million LTI Free man-hours for the Sohar Aromatics Project while for Sohar Alstom Project it completed 6 million LTI Free man-hours in end of July. AHEC has also recently completed one year of working LTI Free for three of its projects: A’Seeb Wastewater Project for Hyundai Rotem/ Haya Water, Co-Generation Power Project for Hirbodhan/ORPC and HRSG Mukhaizna Project for NEM-Oxy.
