Bank Sohar opens branch in Suwaiq

Shaikh Ahmed bin Salah bin Saud al Mawali, the Wali of Suwaiq opened Bank Sohar’s newest branch in Oman in Suwaiq in presence of the bank’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor, dignitaries and senior bank management. The branch is the latest addition to the rapidly growing network that Bank Sohar is establishing across the Sultanate. The bank continues its policy of delivering local and personal banking services to communities all over the country.
Suwaiq is the 13th branch in the network and was also the venue for the exciting draw for the second monthly RO 100,000 draw prize in the Al Mumayaz savings scheme promotion. The lucky winner was drawn by guest of honour Shaikh Ahmed bin Salah bin Saud al Mawali, who also participated in the drawing of 13 RO 1,000 branch winners in the ongoing promotion.
The Suwaiq branch opening celebrations included the RO 100,000 draw as part of an ongoing programme from Bank Sohar to take its activities to customers all over the country. Speaking at the opening, Bank Sohar CEO Dr Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor said: “We are very pleased that His Excellency has accepted our invitation to officially open our newest branch as we continue to demonstrate our commitment to opening new branches to ensure we get ever closer to our existing and prospective customers all over the country.
“Suwaiq is an important step in our policy of creating more branches in the populous and growing Batinah region where we already have existing branches in Sohar, Barka, Saham and Shinas. “Even in the age of electronic banking, Bank Sohar wants to ensure that our customers in the Batinah region enjoy the important personal touch and as we put a human face to our banking services in the region.”
Bank Sohar DGM Retail Banking Khalfan Rashid al Taley said: “We are delighted to once again hold a draw in one our branches in front of our customers demonstrating the transparency and openness of our process and our eagerness to share the excitement of our Al Mumayaz promotion with our customers.” Bank Sohar CEO Dr Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor presented Shaikh Ahmed a gift from the bank to thank him for his role in officially opening the bank and undertaking the two draws.
During the opening event had an opportunity to meet and talk with a number of Bank Sohar customers in addition to having discussions with both local and senior Bank Sohar staff and management. The November RO 100,000 draw was the second of three draws that will be held — the next will be at the end of November respectively and customers earn two chances for every minimum average balance of RO 1,000 they have in their savings account.
But if customers maintain a minimum average balance of RO 2,000 in their savings account they will earn two chances for the RO 250,000 mega prize draw on December 31, 2009 and for every additional RO 2,000 balance customers will earn two more chances to be entered into this fabulous draw. Finally to qualify for the three times a month branch draw prize of RO 1000 customers must maintain a balance of at least RO 100 to be entered into the draw.
