Wataniya Airways receives 4th aircraft, launches daily Jeddah flights  Discuss

05/Nov/2009
Al Watan

Wataniya Airways, Kuwaits first premium full-service airline, has marked another milestone in its history by adding a new daily service to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Operations commenced, with a daily flight operating from Sheikh Saad Terminal, on Nov. 1, 2009. This was announced in a press release on Wednesday.

Kuwaits newest airline will provide First Class and Premium Economy Class seats to business and leisure travellers between Kuwait and Jeddah, the second largest city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the gateway to visitors and pilgrims to the holy city of Mecca.

"Watainya Airways is delighted to provide Kuwaiti travellers with a premium travel option to visit Jeddah, our eighth destination," said Wataniya Airways CEO George Cooper. "We continue to accommodate the growing demand for our premium services by expanding our fleet, and we are happy that the new Jeddah route comes at a perfect time as we receive our fourth aircraft."

To mark the occasion of the new route to Jeddah, the first two lucky guests travelling on the new route won free flights on Wataniya Airways.

Fahed Al-Mubaraki won a first class ticket to a destination of his choice while first Premium Economy guest, Khalifa Al-Mutairi, won another free ticket to a destination of his choice in Wataniya Airways premium economy class.

Wataniya Airways flies from the Sheikh Saad Terminal to Dubai, Cairo, Beirut, Bahrain, Amman, Damascus and Sharm El Sheikh. With its fourth custom fitted A320 aircraft in operation, Wataniya Airways is set to receive three more aircraft next year bringing its total fleet size to seven aircraft.
