According to Saif Ahmed Alghfeli, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and chairman of the ADIPEC Awards, said that 2017 has attracted around 407 entries from more than 132 companies based in 34 countries, making it the most successful ever.

Some of the winners of this award are Saudi Aramco and WWT International in Technological Innovation and Research of the Year category, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy in Driving Performance & Efficiency to Enhance Cost Optimisation category, OMV in Social Contribution and In-Country Value category and Saudi Aramco in Best Digital Transformation Project category.

“The ADIPEC Awards are among the most prestigious awards recognitions in the industry,” said Abubaker Alsaeed, engineer and researcher in Saudi Aramco.

“The awards are an inspiration for us to work hard, to overcome the challenges that we face in the industry and in our operations every day, and this recognition is a motivation for all of us to achieve even more,” he added.

Sarah Alsaif, an employee of Saudi Aramco, won Young ADIPEC Engineer.

“When you see a woman winning an award, it gives you encouragement and it gives a push for young women to achieve more in the industry and to be proud of their work,” said Alsaif. “We have a lot of women doing a lot of really good work, and to be participating in and winning events, such as the ADIPEC Awards, helps show what we are achieving,” Alsaif added. Adel Shaaya, drilling director of Mubadala Petroleum and one of the judges, said, “We had a challenging time, during the selection process, due to the number of impressive entrants, most of whom were qualified to win an award.”

“The ADIPEC Awards set high standards for the oil and gas industry in the MENA region and beyond,” Shaaya remarked.
