The ADX General Index Inched up to reach at 2862.85 levels during the first couple of hours trading on Thursday 31st Jan 2013. The index added 11.59 points or 0.41 percent.
The market breadth was strong with 14 stocks witnessing advances against 9 declining stocks and the prices of 8 companies remained unchanged.
Industrials, Banks, Services and Real Estate were the advancing sectors with 0.84 percent, 0.66 percent, 0.59 percent and 0.26 percent respectively.
Consumer Staples performed worst during this time span, going down by 1.25 percent.
National Takaful Company topped the chart of gainers’, surging 13.92 percent. While, Al Khazna Insurance Company topped the chart of losers’, dropping 6.25 percent.
Al Dar Properties Company appeared as the most active stock with about 28.7 million shares.
