In line with the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan, Bupa Arabia organized in partnership with Careem, the leading cab booking service, a campaign to encourage, gather and donate unused items from their employees and community to donate to those who are in need from individuals and charities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The joint online campaign was launched featuring 22 posts across different social media platforms. With a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to contribute to the campaign, Careem services were under high demand for donations pick up requests. Careem arranged and assigned Captains to pick up the donations across the 3 main cities Jeddah, Riyadh and Al-Khobar and deliver them to Bupa Arabia’s offices, amounting in over 254 free of charge drop off trips.
The donation drive took around one full week, where Bupa Arabia employees and their families sorted over 68,390 received items, segregated and packed them neatly before distributing them to local charity organizations who in return ensured the packages reach those in need. These charities are Al Bir Society in Jeddah, Bonyan Charity in Riyadh and Fatat Al Ehasa in Al-Khobar.
The campaign was a huge success and was supported by online posts to keep the spirit high amongst the community, which resulted in 276,000 impressions on Twitter, 9,300 on LinkedIn, 13,000 reaches on Facebook and 556 engagements on Instagram.
Malath Bayoumi, CSR Program Manager at Bupa Arabia expressed, her extreme pride in organizing such a successful campaign, bringing joy and happiness to those families in need, especially during the Holy month of Ramadan and in turn thanked all those who took part in this day.
“Bupa Arabia is as always left with a sense of pride in supporting those in need through various esteemed and respected charities that work for the better in Saudi Arabia. We, as Bupa Arabia employees have taken up the Donation drive as an annual event that we await for eagerly and constantly look for ways on making it bigger and better.”
