Johannesburg: Invest Oman, representing the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, is organizing an official mission to the Republic of South Africa from 2-5 December to host the "Advantage Oman - South Africa" business dialogue, aimed at strengthening investment partnerships and exploring opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries.
This visit comes as part of the Sultanate of Oman's efforts to broaden its network of international partnerships and reinforce investment relations with one of the most prominent industrial economies on the African continent. The dialogue will bring together a select group of senior investors, chief executives, and leading South African companies, with a focus on four key sectors: mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and information technology. The sessions will highlight promising investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman and support bilateral cooperation in priority economic areas.
This visit forms part of the Sultanate of Oman's broader strategy to strengthen its global investment footprint, expand engagement in high-potential markets and foster long-term partnerships with one of Africa's most diversified and industrialized economies. The dialogue will convene influential South African investors, CEOs, and leading companies to explore opportunities in four sectors central to both economies: mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and information technology.
The Business Dialogue will provide a dedicated platform for direct B2B and G2B engagement. The Omani delegation will highlight the competitive advantages that position Oman as a stable and strategic base for regional investment-its location at the crossroads of Asia and Africa, strong regulatory environment, long-term political and economic stability, investor-friendly incentives, and a pipeline of major ongoing industrial and logistics projects.
Mohammed bin Ali Al Lawati, Director of Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, affirmed: South Africa is one of the continent's major economic centers, with advanced sectors that align closely with Oman's investment priorities. Hosting the Advantage Oman - South Africa dialogue is a significant step toward building long-term partnerships, enhancing direct engagement with investors, and exploring shared opportunities across mining, agriculture, advanced technologies, and manufacturing industries."
Al Lawati added: "As our first mission to South Africa, this visit forms part of Oman's efforts to expand its presence in high-potential markets and to continue the series of Business Dialogue initiatives aimed at strengthening international economic relations and opening new avenues for investment."
The volume of trade exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and South Africa reflects a strong foundation for collaboration. Omani exports to South Africa reached OMR 17.1 million by June 2025, compared to OMR 17.2 million in imports, in addition to OMR 4.36 million in re-exports-underscoring the potential for developing partnerships across various sectors in the coming phase.
With this visit, the Sultanate of Oman continues to advance its global investment presence and transform promising opportunities into meaningful partnerships that serve the interests of both nations.
