The Capital Market Authority (CMA) is organising a workshop on the importance of disclosure in stock markets on January 17, at Sheraton Hotel Muscat.
The workshop will be attended by chief executive offers, general managers, compliance officers and financial managers of issuers of securities as well as shareholders and market participants.
The workshop aims at enhancing the standards of disclosure and awareness in the securities markets and with issuers of securities on the processes of disclosure of periodical and material information through a number of papers to be presented by professionals from inside and outside the Sultanate.
The workshop will discuss the challenges facing disclosure practices, IFRS updates, legal and legislative infrastructures and the role of accounting technology and social media in information dissemination and helping in making sound investment decisions.
