The DFM index wavering above the break – even line achieved 117.25 points or 3.17 percent in a single session on Tuesday 28th Jan 2014, closing at 3,805.16.
Insurance sector made the biggest jump among all sector indices, marching higher by 4.85 percent. Banks and Real Estate sectors followed it with 3.7 percent each.
Advancers outnumbered the declining stocks with a margin of 28 to 2.
Emaar Properties outperformed amongst heavy weights, surging 6.32 percent. Dubai Islamic Bank and Dubai Financial Market Company followed it with 6.2 percent and 3.67 percent respecively.
The National Industries Group outperformed amongst all the Dubai equities, zooming up by 14.49 percent.
Gulf Finance House led the chart of most active stocks by liquidating more than 208 million shares, capturing 27.44 percent of the overall market volume.
