The 2 rebar rolling mills of the Al Tuwairqi group located in Haddah are presently in the final stage of upgrading. Both lines are part of the so called Al-Ittefaq Steel Products Company-Makkah (ISPC-Makkah) which is located a few kilometers west from the Holy Place of Makkah (Western Region of Saudi Arabia).
The revamped former Prague mill (originally making sections in Czech Republic), is now called “Makkah mill”.
It started it’s first production in Jeddah, in June 2008 and was then stopped early January 2009 for revamping to make it a more adapted and efficient rebar mill. This line should start operation again early July 2009.
The yearly capacity of this mill is about 1.200.000 Tons of Rebars, Plain Bars, Special Steel & High Quality Steel. It is the biggest single Bar Mill in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The other rolling line (former Azizia Steel), was purchased by Al Tuwairqi group and is now called “Madinah mill”. This mill was already earlier overhauled to increase production from an initial 80.000t to 350.000t of rebars per year. This line is producing currently, but is being further upgraded with a.o. automatic counting, binding and short length separation equipment, which should be operational within 2 months.
Both rolling mills receive their steel billets from their steelmaking plant in Dammam, or import from other sources.
The Al Tuwairqi Group of Companies (ATG) is one of the leading business and industrial concerns of Saudi Arabia with an annual turnover of 2.00 billion Saudi Riyals. The group owns seven large industrial units in Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom, five of which are metallurgical and steel plants.
Situated within 262,000 m of private land, 4 kilometers west outside the Holy Place of Makkah, Al-Ittefaq Steel Products Company-Makkah (ISPC-Makkah), is a division of Al-Tuwairqi Holding with total capacity of about 1.6 Million ton of rebar (10 – 40 mm). In addition, a Steel Downstream (Cut & Bend, Wire Mesh, Epoxy Coating etc.) and Water Treatment Plant are situated within the same area.
