Activities

Electrical Industries Company (EICO) was established on 7th August 2007 and was listed on Tadawul, the Saudi Stock Exchange, in December 2014. Based in Dammam, EICO's history goes back to 1976, when a joint venture between Westinghouse Electrical Co. and Ali Zaid Al Quraishi and Bros Company formed Wahah Electric Supply Company of Saudi Arabia Limited (WESCOSA). In 1978, Saudi Transformers Company (STC) began manufacturing distribution transformers, in order to supply to a growing demand in Saudi markets. In 1979, Pauwels International (a Belgian company) strategically invested in STC, leading to significant plant expansions and an increase in production capacity. In 2001, Pauwels sold its share to STC, making STC a 100% Saudi firm, which was now supplying products to a variety of contractors and utility companies in the Middle East. Meanwhile, Ali Zaid Al Quraishi and Bros. Company had acquired Westinghouse shares in 1988, making WESCOSA a 100% Saudi company too. Finally, the two companies merged in 2005, and Electrical Industries Company (EICO) was founded, making STC and WESCOSA its subsidiaries. In 2010, EIC established Saudi Power Transformers Company (SPTC) and CG-Power System Saudi Arabia (CGPSSA) in a joint venture with CG-Power Systems Belgium.Today, EICO engages in the manufacturing, assembling, supplying, repairing and maintenance of transformers, electrical distribution boards, cable trays, compact substations, low voltage distribution panels, switch gears and other electrical equipment, along with supervision of technical services relating to these activities. It is also involved in the production of low and medium voltage switchgears, motor control centers, electrical conductors, panel boards, cable bus and bus ducts, relay and protection panels and cable trays. Their maintenance and services division provides inspection, maintenance, upgrade, and repair. They also carry out a study of products, electrical and mechanical systems and other related works. EICO also offers test services for electrical equipment onsite and in projects.
