Thanks to a last-minute upswing, the Dubai Financial Market General Index (DFMGI) remained in the green Monday (up 0.30% at 1,405.61 points. Symptomatically for the current fight between bulls and bears at the DF, bellwether Emaar Properties closed unchanged at Dhs2.66. Shares of Arabtec Construction and Drake and Scull International, known as DSI, both gained half a per cent. Earlier in the day, Arabtec announced it has been awarded three contracts worth Dhs256m in Abu Dhabi in the refinery, polymers and aluminum industry. DSI also announced it has achieved a new deal in Abu Dhabi, the Dubai-based specialist in mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) has signed a letter of agreement to perform MEP works for an "iconic government facility" in the UAE capital. Some 143.3m shares were traded, valued at Dhs126.5m.
