Activities

Samba Financial Group is the largest banking group based in Saudi Arabia and is considered the most stable and the most reliablebank in the Middle East, owing to its prudence, philosophy and management. Its history goes back to 1955, when Citibank opened a branch in Jeddah. In 1980, it converted into Saudi American Bank (as Citibank reduced its shareholding, which was bought over by Saudis) and the Saudi's kept buying the bank's shares from Citibank, until the Technical Management Agreement with Citibank ended and Samba came under full local management by October 31, 2003. To mark this important milestone, the business was officially renamed Samba Financial Group or Samba - a name that its loyal customers had been using for long time.Within ashort period of time, Samba successfully expanded its business internationally. It is now providing world class services to meet the financial needs of its private, corporate and institutional customers, not just in Saudi Arabia, but also in Pakistan, Dubai and the United Kingdom. Since its inception, the strong suite of comprehensive and integrated, conventionaland Sharia-compliant financial products and services, as well as financial advisory services, has propelled Samba to the top tier of Saudi Financial institutions. The Bank aims to invest in its staff, strengthening its social responsibility and maximizing its shareholders returns. Samba was the first bank in Saudi Arabia to offer Priority Banking (Gold and Diamond), Phone Banking, ATMs and Cash Deposits through ATMs, Debit Cards, Charge Cards, Islamic Credit Cards, Co-Branded Credit Cards, AlKhair Credit Cards for ladies, Credit Shield Insurance, Murabaha-Based Cash Financing, Interest Rate Derivatives, Phone Banking, Foreign Exchange Derivatives, Leasing (Ijarah), and Automated Signature Verification.
