With the tallest building of the world under their belt, Emaar Properties a Dubai developer plans to build one that's even taller than Burj Khalifa. The new tower is set to be different with a view! It is planned to have rotating balconies and elevated landscapes that are inspired by the historical hanging gardens of Babylon.
Emaar Properties, the government-backed company plans to construct the $1billion skyscraper close to Dubai creek to attract homeowners who seek for homes with a view. One of the company's skyscrapers was gutted by fire on the New Year's Eve and is now under repair. On Sunday, in a press conference, chairman Mohamed Alabbar said, the tower that will be constructed within the Dubai Creek Harbour project will be "a notch taller" compared to the 828-metre tall Burj Khalifa, but he did not mention just how much taller. Alabbar said, "We wanted to build a new landmark for Dubai."
The construction is expected to start soon and finish before World Expo in 2020 hosted by Dubai.
Dubai is the tourist as well as business hub of the Gulf and has been developing hotels as well as entertainment projects in a big way to entice about twenty million tourists yearly by 2020. In 2012, the number was ten million.
