The total number of mobile service subscriptions in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 9.6 percent, reaching 8,009,723 subscriptions compared to 7,307,140 during the same period in 2024, according to the latest data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The data indicated that prepaid mobile subscriptions accounted for the largest share of the total, reaching 5,152,342 subscriptions by the end of November 2025, recording a growth of 2.0 percent compared to the same period last year. Postpaid mobile subscriptions rose by 1.8 percent to reach 1,268,345. Notably, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) internet of things subscriptions recorded a significant surge of 57.5 percent, totaling 1,589,036 subscriptions.
Regarding fixed communication services, the total number of fixed broadband internet subscriptions reached 597,114 by the end of November 2025, an increase of 3 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology subscriptions rose by 10.8 percent to 354,014. Fixed 5G subscriptions saw a slight growth of 1 percent, while fixed 4G subscriptions declined by 54.5 percent and ADSL subscriptions dropped by 36.1 percent.
Furthermore, the data showed that the total number of fixed telephone lines reached 411,065, a 1 percent increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, international internet bandwidth capacity expanded by 14.8 percent to reach 4,102,219 Mbps by the end of November 2025.
