Gold paused to consolidate amid light profit-taking Friday after two straight days of gains, with the Greek debt-restructuring talks still in focus even though the general tone has been positive since the start of the year.
At 0522 GMT, spot gold was at $1,717.80 a troy ounce, down $2.70 from its previous close. The metal mostly traded between $1,714.59/oz and $1,724.37/oz.
