Shuaiba Industrial Company (K.P.S.C), originally named "Shuaiba Paper Products Company," was founded in 1978, pioneering multiwall Kraft paper bags in the GCC region. The company holds ISO 9001:2008 certification from BVQI and was the first in Kuwait to receive HACCP Certification from BVQI. In 2013, it was recognized by the Kuwait Government as one of the best plant exporters in the country. Currently, around 65% of its production is exported globally. In nearly 39 years of operation, SIC has expanded its capacity through a new manufacturing plant in JAFZA, UAE, wholly owned by Shuaiba Industrial Company. Additionally, SIC has a joint venture with Yanbu Cement Company in Saudi Arabia, named Yanbu Saudi Kuwaiti Paper Products Company Ltd., established in 2005, with SIC holding a 40% stake.
