Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, the capital's first low-cost carrier, has celebrated the launch of its non-stop flights to Damascus, Syria, further expanding its growing network from Abu Dhabi and reinforcing its commitment to providing affordable and accessible air travel across the region.

The inaugural flight was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute upon arrival at Damascus International Airport, marking the beginning of seamless connectivity between the two capital cities.

A welcome ceremony was held at the airport, attended by representatives from the Air Arabia, the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, and Damascus airport.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said: "We are glad to launch our direct service between Abu Dhabi and Damascus, a route that complements our existing service from Sharjah and underscores Syria's importance to Air Arabia's regional network."

He added: "This addition reflects our ongoing commitment to offering customers more travel options that combine affordability and convenience. As we continue to expand from Abu Dhabi, we remain focused on connecting key destinations across the region while supporting the capital's vision to strengthen trade and tourism ties".
