Ooredoo has launched an innovative service, ‘Mobile Device Management’ that enables companies to monitor all devices, content and apps operating on the company network.

With Mobile Device Management businesses will be able to allow users access to corporate resources on their own devices, whilst still ensuring user privacy, and the integrity of company data.

Powered by IBM MaaS360, the capabilities of the solution will allow enterprises to have their own App Catalogue that presents users with approved or recommended public applications and in-house developed applications, while offering the ability to automatically push updates of those applications as they are made available.

As more and more employees in Qatar are bringing smart devices to work, and using their own phones and tablets to access company data, Ooredoo has developed this service to provide peace of mind for businesses and enhance mobility.

The Mobile Management solution also let’s businesses provision mobile device apps and content—all from a single portal—while minimising risk to organisations. In addition, it enables employees to collaborate across multiple device platforms, which boosts productivity.

Yousuf Abdullah Al Kubaisi (pictured), Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “Whether you’re working for one of Qatar’s leading enterprises or operating a small family business, it’s a fact of corporate life today that employees use their smart devices at work and at home to access the company’s network. We’ve developed our service that is powered by one of the world’s leading technology companies, IBM, so that all companies across all industries can benefit from higher employee productivity online while reducing the day-to-day risks.”

Ooredoo’s Mobile Device Management service offers a range of essential solutions via the cloud, so that employees can access corporate email, calendar, contacts and share documents securely through their device. Companies deploying the system can manage inventory, update policies and configure features via a central portal, giving them more security and control.

This service will also enable businesses to protect data on lost or stolen devices with remote password locks and resets, as well as partial and full data wipes, remote lock and generate reports.
