Zain Kuwait has sponsored the GCC Electricity and Water Conservation Forum 2025, hosted by the State of Kuwait at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC). The forum brought together a select group of officials and experts to discuss challenges and solutions in energy and water efficiency, and to showcase the latest sustainable practices across the GCC.

Zain participated in the opening ceremony under the patronage and in the presence of Dr Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water & Renewable Energy, and Acting Minister of Finance & Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, alongside Dr Adel Al-Zamel, the Ministry's Undersecretary, Waleed Al-Khashti, Zain Kuwait's Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer, Hamad Al-Musaibeeh, Corporate Relations Department Manager, and representatives of energy organizations from across GCC states.

Zain's support reflects its commitment to national and regional initiatives that aim to reduce the carbon footprint and enhance energy efficiency. This participation reaffirms the company's alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, its drive toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, and its strengthening of partnerships with government entities on the journey toward sustainable digital transformation.

Zain's presence also extends its role as a strategic partner to the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in deploying technologies that raise the efficiency of resource management. The smart metering project launched in cooperation between Zain and the Ministry back in 2017 represented a key milestone in developing Kuwait's energy infrastructure and opened the door to adopting more smart and sustainable solutions.

The forum served as an effective regional platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening public-private partnerships in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. Its agenda featured panel discussions and workshops focused on four main pillars: policies, legislation and performance indicators; innovations, national strategies and entrepreneurship; community awareness and social responsibility; and the transition toward a green economy.

This year's forum also witnessed the announcement of the "GCC Excellence Award for Energy and Water Efficiency," which aims to honor leading initiatives and outstanding individuals and entities in consumption rationalization and resource efficiency. Award categories included Excellence in Building Energy and Water Efficiency, the Best GCC Influencer for Electricity and Water Conservation, and the Best GCC Digital Application for Consumption Rationalization.

Zain's support to the GCC Electricity and Water Conservation Forum embodies its vision to harness technological innovation in service of environmental and developmental goals and to promote a culture of rational electricity and water use across all segments of society, thereby reinforcing a sustainable ecosystem in Kuwait and across the GCC.
