Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (known as: Julphar) is a public company based in Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) and was established in March 1980. Julphar is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange since July 2005, and is the largest generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in the Middle East and North Africa, distributing medicines to over 40 countries. It operates within the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and life sciences sector, focusing on pharmaceuticals. The company is engaged in the manufacture of medicines, drugs and various other types of pharmaceutical, medical and cosmetic compounds. It has 6 subsidiaries operating across UAE, South Africa, Bangladesh and Germany. The company's plant is located in the city of Ras Al Khaimah where its headquarters are also located. It was established with a goal to create high-quality medicines, whilst maintaining a competitive cost. It has also launched manufacturing facilities in Ethiopia, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia as part of its ongoing international expansion strategy. Julphar maintain a diverse product portfolio which targetsmainly the therapeutic segments, including: Wound, Adult Primary Care, Cardiopulmonary Care, Anemia and Women Care, Gastro Care, Pediatric Primary Care, Pain Management and Consumer Care. Moreover, it is the only company in the Middle East to produce the raw material needed to make insulin through our division dedicated to diabetes.
