Kuwait Food Company-Americana (known as: FOOD) is a public company based in Kuwait City(Kuwait) and was established in December 1964. FOOD is listed on the Boursa Kuwait since September 1984. The company is one of the largest and most successful corporations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)region. Its main lines of business are operating food & beverage outlets, as well as manufacturing food products. It is primarily involved in the import, manufacture and sale of food stuff and beverages, whilst also investing its surplus funds in investment portfolios managed by professional parties and companies. Having a network of more than 1,800 outlets, it is not only the largest operator of restaurant chains in the MENA region, but also among the most successful franchise operators in the whole world. Its activities are structured into two segments: restaurant and retail; and manufacture and trade. It is active in the business of meat and poultry, dairy foods, canned food, vegetables, frozen potatoes, and salty snacks. Moreover, it provides its products under popular brand names like: Pizza Hut, KFC, TGI Friday's, Hardee's, Costa Coffee, Signor Sassi and Krispy Kreme. The subsidiaries of the company include: Americana International Company (Safeway), Al Ahlia Restaurants Co., Arab Gulf for Food and Central Markets Co.and Al Ahlia for Food Industries Co., among others.
