In an effort to make life simpler for its customers through a series of ongoing enhancements, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) today announced the launch of the Tap ‘n’ Go service with KNET.

This technology uses Visa payWave to enable Prestige, Elite and VIP Debit cardholders to transact with the POS devices by tapping or waving the card on the NFC-enabled POS machine without the need to insert or swipe the card. This enhancement will enable frictionless payments for low value transactions in a secure, more convenient and faster way.

In addition, ABK provides this service without the requirement of PIN or signature verification for point-of-sale transactions below KD 10 up to a cumulative total of KD 25, making the experience even simpler.

For contactless transactions above KD 10, or cumulative KD 25, a PIN will be required. KNET have already started enabling this functionality on the Kuwait POS network.

All NFC-enabled POS machines will feature the distinctive contactless symbol, which is also present on the card, and ensures contactless payments can be conducted.
