Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office in Riyadh Serageldin Aslov, foreign minister of Tajikistan, and an accompanying delegation.
The delegation included Abdullah Yuldasheve, Tajikistan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Abdul Jabbar Hirinov, governor of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Oazmcha Hiribov, head of the Department of International Relations at the President of the Republic office, Khosrow Nadery, head of the Department of Asian and African countries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Ahmed Said John Muradov, assistant secretary of State, Sher Alisha Alekperov, director general of the Tajik Aluminium Company — TALCO.
The meeting was also attended by Fahad bin Saad bin Nafel, executive assistant to the chairman.
The meeting began as the minister thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him.
The two discussed matters related to the economy of their respective countries and the exploration of potential investment opportunities in Tajikistan.
The minister said his country was keen in attracting investments there and would facilitate the appropriate support needed to achieve this.
In 2009, Prince Alwaleed received Hamrokhom Zarifi, Tajikistan Minister of Foreign Affairs who thanked for his donation through Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation – Global (Registered in Lebanon), of 16 electric generators at a value of $500,000 to Tajikistan’s areas that were affected by the harsh winter in 2008.
In the same year, Prince Alwaleed had visited Tajikistan and met with President Emomali Rahmon.
The prince’s visit was in response to an official invitation from the country’s President.
