Benchmark MSM Index ends higher in July

Muscat Securities Market (MSM) General Index (30) closed at 6643.34 at the end of July 2013, recording a rise of 304.99 points or 4.81 per cent compared to June 2013, when it had closed at 6338.35 points.

The report released by the MSM pointed out that the market value at the end of July 2013 was about OMR13.3 billion, reflecting a rise of 4.22 per cent compared to the previous month when it had reached OMR12.82 billion. The value of shares bought by non-Omani investors at the end of July 2013 reached OMR30.5 million, thus accounting for 18.51 per cent. The value of shares sold by the non-Omani investors reached OMR33.1 million, comprising 20.09 per cent.

The net non-Omani investments declined by 1.6 per cent to plunge to OMR2.6 million.
