The MSM30 Index dipped 1.87 per cent to close at 5,651 points. The advance to decline ratio at the end of the trading session stood at 0.03:1.
The total shares exchanged rose 112.19 per cent to 6.574 million shares and the total value traded rose 101.35 per cent to RO2.654 million. The market breadth was negative with one gainer and 34 losers out of 44 traded securities. Amongst the sectors, Banking and Investment Sector fell 2.08 per cent to close at 6,150 points.
The Services and Insurance Sector declined 2.17 per cent to close at 2,409 points. The Industrial Sector decreased 1.84 per cent to close at 6,296 points. The top only gainer was Omantel (0.10%) and closed at RO1.042. The top two losers were Acwa Power Barka (-9.97%) and Oman Fisheries (-8.08%) to close at RO1.183 and RO0.091. The top two by volume traded were BankMuscat (1.388 million shares) and Oman Inv. & Fin. (0.734 million shares).
