The Sultan Center (TSC), one of the largest independent retailer and supplier of grocery items in Kuwait, has partnered with Flex Gourmet to launch a wellness program that promotes healthy living through balanced nutrition combined with mental well-being and physical exercise.

The ‘Healthy Living’ campaign is a part of TSC’s “Because We Care” initiative that will take place across all of TSC’s stores as part of its ongoing support to the community.

It will highlight choices that contribute to a healthy lifestyle, with a weekly range of activities set to underline the importance of healthy dieting, physical exercise and food storage & handling, it stated.

Lisa Al Gharib, the marketing manager, said TCS has taken up this initiative in collaboration with Flex Gourmet to promote healthier lifestyles in a fun and informative way.

"We aim to spread awareness of the importance of a balanced diet and how it contributes to overall health and well-being," she stated.

"The community program will cover a series of specific themes over the course of three weeks.

Week 1 will focus on healthy eating with focus on the benefits of nutritious foods. Cooking tips and delicious recipes will be shared," explained Al Gharib.

According to her, TSC and Flex Gourmet will jointly give customers an opportunity to consult with a nutritionist, have their body mass index (BMI) checked, and discover tips on eating a balanced diet.

Participants will also get a chance to sign up for a weight loss challenge which will offer the winner a health club membership and a meal package membership from Flex Gourmet.

The second week will focus on the four basic food safety tips to help reduce the risk of food poisoning within the home - an initiative by Alyasra Foods.

The food safety tips being covered are “Clean It, Separate It, Chill It & Cook It”. Along with recommendations for placement of foods within the grocery cart while shopping, said Al Gharib.

Week 3 will focus on the benefits of physical fitness and the importance of exercise for a healthy lifestyle, she added.

TSC has also arranged for fitness experts to provide tips on the importance of regular physical exercise to unwind and help you look good, feel better and sleep well… all the essential components for basic well-being.
