MSM 30 Index ended the day with gains of 17 points at 6808.12 points, up by 0.26 per cent. MSM Shariah Index also closed at 1093.38 points, up by 0.21 per cent.
Gulf Investment Services was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Al Omaniya Financial Services was the top gainer and closed up by 5.41 per cent, while Al Madina Investment, which was the top loser, declined by 2.19 per cent.
A total number of 1,483 trades were executed in yesterday's session generating a turnover of OMR7.64 million with over 27.48 million shares traded. Out of 52 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 27 declined and 7 were unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR363,000 worth of shares followed by GCC & Arab investors at OMR10,000. Foreign investors sold shares amounting to OMR373,000.
Financial Sector Index up by 0.37 per cent at 8148.88 points. Al Omaniya Financial Services, Al Sharqiya Investment, Global Financial Investment, Oman & Emirates and Al Anwar Holding increased by 5.41 per cent, 2.75 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 2.15 per cent and 1.60 per cent respectively.
The Industrial Sector Index up by 0.23 per cent at 10382.92 points. National Aluminium, Construction Material Industries, Oman Cables, Al Anwar Ceramic and Oman Cement increased by 1.99 per cent, 1.43 per cent, 0.92 per cent, 0.70 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively. Al Hassan Engineering, Voltamp Energy and Galfar Engineering declined by 0.79 per cent, 0.42 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively.
