The MSM 30 Index closed at 6,827.10 points, up by 0.05 per cent, whereas MSM Shariah Index declined by 0.09 per cent at 1,079.54 points.

OIFC was the most active in terms of volume, while Bank Muscat was the most active by turnover. The top gainer was Bank Sohar which gained 2.15 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the top loser, down by 2.17 per cent.

Altogether 1,281 trades were executed in yesterday's session generating a turnover of OMR9.08 million with over 27.37 million shares traded. Out of 51 traded stocks, 16 advanced, 14 declined and 21 were unchanged. Omani investors remained as net buyers to the tune of OMR794,000 worth of shares, while foreign investors were net sellers at OMR1.12 million followed by GCC & Arab investors at OMR324,000.

Financial Sector Index was down by 0.10 per cent to close at 8,145.24 points. Bank Sohar, Oman Emirates, Al Madina Investments, Al Anwar holding and National Bank of Oman increased by 2.15 per cent, 1.08 per cent, 0.82 per cent, 0.54 per cent and 0.34 per cent respectively.

Bank Nizwa, Oman United Insurance, Al Batinah Development, Bank Dhofar and Takaful Oman declined by 2.17 per cent, 1.84 per cent, 1.56 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.

Industrial Sector Index was up by 0.15 per cent to close at 10,607.76 points. Construction Materials, Gulf Mushroom, Al Jazeera Steel, National Aluminum Products and Gulf International Chemicals increased by 1.61 per cent, 1.54 per cent, 1.45 per cent, 0.63 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively. Al Hassan Engineering and Oman Cement declined by 0.86 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index was up by 0.21 per cent and closed at 3672.33 points. OIFC, Renaissance services and Omantel gained 1.37 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.33 per cent respectively. Port Services and Al Jazeera Services declined by 0.87 per cent, and 0.37 per cent respectively.
