MSM 30 Index ended on a flat note at 6770.24 points, marginally up by 0.02 per cent. MSM Shariah Index closed at 1086.49 points.

Gulf Investment Services was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. National Securities was the top gainer and closed up by 4.40 per cent, while DBIH was the top loser and declined by 2.20 per cent.

Altogether 1,428 trades were executed in yesterday's session generating a turnover of OMR6.48 million with over 19.56 million shares traded. Out of 54 traded stocks, 17 advanced, 17 declined and 20 were unchanged. Omani investors switched to net buyers to the tune of OMR705,000 worth of shares. Arab and GCC investors switched to net sellers and sold shares amounting to OMR519,000, followed by foreign investors at OMR186,000.

Financial Sector Index was up by 0.12 per cent at 8191.42 points. National Securities, Al Omaniya Financial Services, Bank Dhofar, Bank Sohar and Al Izz Islamic Bank increased by 4.40 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 0.97 per cent and 0.94 per cent respectively. DBIH, Taageer Finance, Ahli Bank, Oman& Emirates and Dhofar Insurance declined by 2.20 per cent, 1.30 per cent, 1.04 per cent, 1.04 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.

The Industrial Sector Index rose by 0.14 per cent at 10504.47 points. National Aluminium, A'Saffa Foods and Oman Cement increased by 2.53 per cent, 1.79 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Al Hassan Engineering, Gulf International Chemicals and Voltamp Energy declined by 1.39 per cent, 0.96 per cent, 0.76 per cent, 0.46 per cent and 0.41 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index marginally down by 0.08 per cent at 3625.71 points. National Gas, Shell Oman Marketing, SMN Power Holding and Port Services Corp increased by 3.38 per cent, 0.85 per cent, 0.46 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively. Oman Telecom, OIFC, Renaissance Services, Sembcorp Salalah and Nawras declined by 1.01 per cent,0.70 per cent, 0.55 per cent, 0.52 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively.
