The MSM30 Index ended on a positive note to close at 5851.32 points, up by 0.13 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
Al Anwar Ceramic was the top gainer for the day and closed up by 2.31 per cent while Dhofar Cattlefeed was the top loser for the day and closed down by 3.60 per cent. A total number of 1530 trades were executed in yesterday's trading session generating turnover of OMR5.92 million with over 22.25 million shares traded.
Out of 52 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 13 declined and 21 remained unchanged. Foreign investors were net buyers for OMR1.09 million while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR983,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR132,000 worth of shares.
Financial Sector Index closed at 6811.57 points, marginally up by 0.07 per cent. United Finance, Bank Sohar, Ahli Bank, DIDIC and Al Sharqia Investment increased by 1.29 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 1.11 per cent, 1.02 per cent and 0.94 per cent, respectively.
Transgulf Holding, Gulf Investment Services, Ominvest, Oman and Emirates and Al Anwar Holding declined by 2.15 per cent, 1.94 per cent, 1.57 per cent, 0.94 per cent and 0.71 per cent respectively. The Industrial Sector Index was up by 0.25 per cent and closed at 7512.73 points.
Anwar Ceramic, Al Hassan Engineering and Raysut Cement increased by 2.31 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 0.62 per cent, respectively. Dhofar Cattlefeed, Oman Fisheries, Gulf International Chemicals and Gulf Mushroom Products declined by 3.60 per cent, 0.94 per cent, 0.58 per cent and 0.39 per cent, respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 2970.48 points, up by 0.15 per cent. Port Service Corp, Nawras, Al Jazeira Services, Oman National Engineering and Renaissance Services increased by 1.33 per cent, 1.05 per cent, 0.78 per cent, 0.77 per cent and 0.40 per cent, respectively.
Sohar Power and Oman Telecommunications declined by 1.22 per cent and 0.67 per cent, respectively.
