The MSM 30 Index closed at 6,746.49 points, down by 0.51 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 1,070.32, down by 0.28 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Gulf International Chemicals which gained 0.91 per cent was the top gainer while the Financial Corporation was the top loser for the day, down by 6.83 per cent.
A total number of 1,031 trades were executed in yesterday's trading session generating turnover of OMR6.51 million with over 14.35 million shares traded. Out of 47 traded stocks, three advanced, 25 declined and 19 were unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers for OMR1.48 million while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR1.26 million followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR222,000 worth of shares.
Financial Sector Index closed down by 0.66 per cent to close at 7,963.73 points. The Financial Corporation, Oman & Emirates, Al Sharqia Investments, DBIH and Ominvest declined by 6.83 per cent, 5.60 per cent, 3.76 per cent, 2.94 per cent and 2.70 per cent respectively.
Industrial index declines
Industrial Sector Index declined by 0.40 per cent to close at 10,332.89. Al Gulf International Chemicals and Al Anwar Ceramics increased by 0.91 per cent and 0.34 per cent. Al Hassan Engineering, National Aluminium, Voltamp Energy, Oman Cables and Oman Refreshment declined by 3.16 per cent, 1.66 per cent, 1.32 per cent, 1.21 per cent and 0.82 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 3,639.01 points, down by 0.23 per cent. Port Services was the only gainer in the sector and was up by 0.46 per cent to close at OMR0.434. Omantel, Al Jazeera Services and OIFC declined by 1.61 per cent, 1.13 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively.
