The MSM30 index ended with gains for the first time in 13 sessions and closed at 5556.45 points, up by 0.41 per cent. An OTC deal in Al Omaniya Financial Services shares resulted in the scrip ending as the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Voltamp Energy was the top gainer for the day and closed up by 5.48 per cent, while Bank Nizwa was the top loser for the day and closed down by 0.95 per cent.

A total number of 1328 trades were executed in yesterday's trading session generating turnover of RO3.76 million with over 14.09 million shares traded.

Out of 49 traded stocks, 25 advanced, five declined and 19 remained unchanged. Omani investors switched to net buyers for RO165,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for RO86,000 while foreign investors switched to net sellers for RO251,000 worth of shares.

Financial Sector Index was up by 0.83 per cent and closed at 6174.14 points. Oman & Emirates, Al Anwar Holding, HSBC Bank Oman, Ominvest and ONIC Holding increased by 4 per cent, 3.18 per cent, 1.93 per cent, 1.80 per cent and 1.79 per cent, respectively. Bank Nizwa, Bank Muscat and Bank Dhofar declined by 0.95 per cent, 0.72 per cent and 0.60 per cent, respectively. The Industrial Sector Index was up by 0.24 per cent and closed at 7178.68 points. Voltamp Energy, Dhofar Cattlefeed, Gulf International Chemicals, Al Hassan Engineering and A'Saffa Foods increased by 5.48 per cent, 4 per cent, 3.61 per cent, 1.92 per cent and 1.62 per cent, respectively.

Jazeera Steel Product was the only loser and was down by 0.34 per cent to close at 0.295. Services Sector Index closed at 2803.19 points, up by 0.34 per cent. OIFC, SMN Power Holding, Nawras, Omantel and Al Jazeira Services increased by 1.71 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 0.64 per cent, 0.63 per cent and 0.28 per cent, respectively. Port Service Corp was the only loser and was down by 0.20 per cent to close at RO 0.509.
