The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) has announced the publication of a Disclosure Guide for listed public Joint Stock Companies detailing the legal responsibilities of these companies with regard to disclosure in the capital market domain in Oman. Compiled by MSM in cooperation with the Capital Market Authority (CMA), the Disclosure Guide is divided into chapters covering all disclosure aspects. It begins with general directives that listed companies need to comply with when disclosing information. This is followed by guidelines for the disclosure of financial details, and disclosure of AGMs, EGMs, and resolutions passed during these meetings.
The final chapter outlines the mechanisms for disclosure of administrative, structural and other substantial information. “This guide defines the types of information and news which should be disclosed, in form and content, and the devices for disclosure as well as the date and time which must be complied with,” the MSM said in its announcement. “The guide is available at the MSM website in both Arabic and English languages. It is noticed that all disclosures of listed companies have been communicated electronically and are currently available at the MSM website,” it added.
