Muscat Securities Market began to receive applications from all college and universities students in Oman, who wish to participate in the FAC Competition. The competition is organised by the Muscat Securities Market in collaboration with the Sultan Qaboos University, represented by the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, also the Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), Bank Muscat and the Oman Cables Industry SAOG announced its support and sponsorship of this competition.
This competition is aimed at strengthening the financial analysis skills of students and giving them the opportunity to compete among themselves in the field of financial securities and gain the firsthand experience of creating equity reports and financial analysis of listed companies, as only groups of 4 to 5 students can participate in the challenge thus it also promotes teamwork and leadership skills among the young of Oman.
Financial Analysis Challenge competition was divided in two phases: The first phase include a declaration and registration of the participants and in order to give them a specific list of companies listed on the MSM to prepare a report that includes financial analysis of that particular company that has been selected and then presented to a special jury that will choose the best five teams that shall qualify for the second phase which will be at the closing ceremony, where the finalist teams will present their report and the results obtained during the analysis in front of an audience and a panel of judges that will then elect the 3 best teams winning of exciting prizes.
