The MSM30 Index closed with gains at 7,547.65 points, up by 0.43 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index was up by 0.42 per cent at 1,083.26 points. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume, while Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) was the most active in terms of turnover. National Aluminium was the top gainer of the day, up by 4.59 per cent, while Oman Textile Holding was the top loser of the day having gone down 3.10 per cent.
A total number of 1,706 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR9 million with 28.01 million shares changing hands. Out of 59 traded stocks, 22 advanced, 11 declined and 26 remained unchanged. Foreign investors remained net buyers for OMR223,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR4,000 and OMR4,000, while Omani investors switched to net sellers for OMR227,000 worth of shares.
The Financial Index closed at 9,442.26 points, up by 1.08 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, HSBC Bank Oman, Ahli Bank and Al Sharqiya Investment increased by 3.13 per cent, 2.89 per cent, 2.85 per cent and 1.85 per cent, respectively. Oman & Emirates, Oman United Insurance, ONIC Holding and Al Madina Takaful declined by 1.37 per cent, 0.88 per cent, 0.87 per cent and 0.83 per cent, respectively. The Industrial Index was up by 0.32 per cent to close at 10,251.26 points. National Aluminium Products, Galfar Engineering, Voltamp Energy and Gulf International Chemicals increased by 4.49 per cent,1.25 per cent, 0.46 per cent and 0.43 per cent, respectively. Oman Textile Holding, Majan Glass, Al Hassan Engineering and Dhofar Cattlefeed declined by 3.10 per cent, 1.46 per cent, 1.31 per cent and 0.60 per cent, respectively
The Services Sector Index closed at 3,811.39 points, up by 0.37 per cent. Al Maha Petroleum, OIFC, Nawras and Al Suwaidi Power increased by 2.46 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 1.18 per cent and 0.56 per cent, respectively. Omantel was the only loser in the sector and was down by 0.29 per cent to close at OMR1.720.
