Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) is to participate in the ICC WCF 8th World Chambers Congress hosted by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, which is to be held in Doha on 22-25 April 2013 at the Qatar Conference Centre, under the patronage of the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

QIB will have its own stand at the exhibition, which will run in parallel with the summit, and aims at reinforcing Qatari projects, while also offering Islamic banking and finance solutions for all companies working in trade and commerce, to strengthen imports and exports that constitute a key pillar of the State's economy, said the bank in a press release.

QIB is considered a strategic partner in trade finance, having contributed to the financing of Qatari businesses by QAR 6.5 billion in 2012 against QAR 2.9 billion in 2011, i.e. a growth of 124 per cent. This is a token of its strong support of the Qatari trade and commerce sector, and its increasing contribution in the national economy.

Organised biennially by the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF), the World Chambers Congress is the only international forum for chamber of commerce leaders to share experiences and best practice, exchange insights, develop networks and address the current business issues affecting their communities.

This event assembles a global community of more than 12,000 chambers of commerce, their presidents and CEOs, business members, and influential world leaders. It provides a unique opportunity for interaction between delegates from more than 100 countries.
